nOS is creating a blockchain based platform that will have features of an app store, a web browser, and a virtual operating system. This is a platform for DApps and websites that will work by using NEO smart contracts the will make the system transparent and fair for users. The data will be safe and all users will control and understand what’s going on with their data. DApps will be allowed to use different tokens, but end users will only deal with NEO’s utility token GAS, because the platform will automatically convert GAS to the required tokens. Developing for the nOS platform will be easier than for Ethereum due to usage of a Universal Smart Contract (USC) with its back-end functions. And the best piece of news is an implemented MVP that allows developers to start creating DApps right now.
nOS’s token will be used for voting to participate in the platform governance, for the best Dapps. This way low-quality DApss will be less visible for users. The developers creating DApps on the platform will have a prioritized rights for purchasing tokens during ICO.
Team
The nOS team is the main reason behind the hype around the project. Five people all from cryptoworld, four of them are developers and a designer. The developers including CEO Dean van Dugteren are from City of Zion, a recognized group of NEO developers standing behind NeonWallet, a popular NEO-based wallet. They also created Neoblog. The project advisor Roger Lim, NEO Global Capital Founding Partner, has been consulting a number of successful ICO projects.
Summary
nOS is still on its early stage, but definitely has a serious potential. The ICO date and information about their token is still unclear and they don’t even have a whitepaper. But what they do have is a team of developers who know what to do and how to do it. The proof is the MVP already launched and ready to be used by other developers for their DApps. NEO platform as a basement is another plus. And don’t forget about serious hype.
