AIRBLOC is creating a decentralized platform based on a protocol of the same name for personal data. The platform users will be able to monetize their data and advertisers will be able to buy these data to conduct targeted marketing campaigns. The platform will be a kind of a data marketplace equally profitable for all participants. AIRBLOC is going to resolve such problems as illegal data monetization, high advertising costs because of centralized data brokers controlling the data, unclear personal data management provided by centralized services, no rewards for data sharing, no marketplace for users’ data.
The AIRBLOC protocol will include Application Layer and API for third-party DApps, Service Layer providing all the functions of the network, and the Core Layer based on Ethereum for data verification.
AIRBLOC will have two kinds of tokens – ABL (ERC-20-based) and AIR. The second one is a non-transferable token that will be used for rewards for Users, Refiners, and Gatekeepers and can be later converted to ABL at a 1-to-1 ratio. The ABL token will be used for rewards for the data providers, data validators, data storage nodes, data refiners, and will be required for transactions on the platform. A total supply is 400 million ABL tokens. The token distribution: 38.6% – sale, 20.1% – rewards, 16.8% – institutional investors, 13.3% – team, 4.5% – reserve, 4.5% – advisors, 2.2% – research.

Team

AIRBLOC is a Korean team of 22 specialists fully packed with top Korean software engineers from such enterprises as Google, LINE, Naver, Software Maestro, and WeMakePrice. The co-founders bring their business development experience from their parent company called ab180, a Korean digital advertising company which services over 300 enterprises. The project CEO Roi Nam also served as CEO of ab180. The team is supported by 10 advisors, most f which are top managers of their companies, as well as entrepreneurs, specialists in security and software development.

Targeted advertisements can improve advertisement success rates and returns on investments significantly.

During this process, through the use of blockchain technology, AIRBLOC also protects individuals’ data privacy, rewards Data Providers and provides full data transparency and traceability.

Today’s data market, which is dominantly controlled by centralized services a.k.a “walled gardens” and big data brokers who aggregate and sell data to large enterprises for profit.

Often, most individuals are completely alienated from the data market. Individual users who are the original data source are not given fair rewards and they do not own the data.

Smaller Apps with relatively less number of customer data compared to larger Apps cannot sell nor monetize their customers’ data as effectively. Because in order to participate in the data trading market, sufficient amount of customer data is needed.

Meanwhile, from the Data Consumer’s side, small and medium-sized enterprises are often barred from purchasing data even in small amounts. Even large enterprises can only access data related to market trends. With such limited data sets, it is tough for them to execute highly effective micro-targeted advertisement campaigns towards relevant individuals for higher returns on investment.

With AIRBLOC, Users can directly submit data to the blockchain data supply chain. Users can track and control their data transactions, as well as monetize their own data.

Through the DAuth protocol on AIRBLOC, Apps can seek permission from Users to sell data on their behalf. Also, Data Consumers can easily purchase and access high quality, granular and insightful data, even in small amounts. This allows them to optimize their marketing campaigns by running highly-effective micro-targeted ads.
